All tests are performed by a painless simple buccal swab (also called cheek swab) that is placed on the inside of the mouth and rubbed against the cheek to obtain the cells that contain the DNA needed for analysis.
The only test that will require a blood sample is when the mother is pregnant. There is also another option of bringing an unusual sample such as ear wax swabs, toothbrushes, nails, chewing gum (sugarless free works best) etc.
